The paper shares the Singapore Land Transport Authority experience and insights on their transformational journey in regulatory safety approach that is adopted in Singapore, and how this is being realised through the implementation of various safety programmes and initiatives. Using a multi-pronged approach, which includes audits and inspections to collaboration with rail operators, it increases flexibility and reduces reliance on single solutions. Single safety measures have the potential to fail or to circumvent, which can be risky. A multi-pronged approach provides layers of protection, making it less likely for an incident to occur.
